REQUIREMENTS BEFORE ADMISSION TO AMERICAN PROVINCE OF THE ORDER OF ST. PAUL THE FIRST HERMIT
If you have discerned your vocation to become a priest or a brother in the Order of St. Paul the First Hermit, you will be required to present some essential documents, as well as meet several requirements that will allow us to get to know you better and permit you to enter the life of our community.

Request for admission to the Order of St. Paul the First Hermit, stating the candidate’s personal motivation for entering. (with a handwritten signature)
Personal biography – especially regarding the development and growth in candidate’s spiritual life
Baptism and Confirmation certificate (current, up to 3 months before entering the Order)
Health certificate from a family doctor
High School diploma
College transcripts (if relevant)
Information about any financial obligations, debts or student loans
ID photos (digital).
Photocopies of the valid Passport
A psychological evaluation conducted by a licensed psychologist
A psycho-sexual history conducted by either a licensed psychologist or a licensed mental health professional with skills in conducting psycho-sexual histories and in assessing psycho-sexual health in preparation for a life of celibate chastity
Provide information about social media, personal blog sites, and website associated with accounts controlled by the Candidate
A background check, which includes multi-state criminal records search, national sex offender registry check, social security number trace and alias search, and individual country level search in every country the Candidate has lived, worked, or attended school over the last seven years
5 Recommendations – 3 documented personal references (including at least one from a family member) and 2 professional references (including one from the candidate’s pastor–see provided form Candidate’s to the Order Moral Conduct)
Face-to-face interview with one of the vocation directors and with Provincial Superior of the Order
A visit to the monastery or attending a vocation retreat at the monastery prior to entering
